BIREME/PAHO/WHO carried out a significant restructuring of its Datacenter, ensuring high availability and security for approximately 300 instances of technical cooperation. With the move to a modern infrastructure, BIREME is prepared to meet the growing demands of technical cooperation. In 2023, countries participating in the 76th World Health Assembly adopted a resolution to address unintentional drowning. In the last decade, more than 2.5 million lives have been lost worldwide. The World Health Organization will coordinate global efforts and promote cooperation among countries to address the problem. The most recent edition of the Health Sciences Descriptors (DeCS) has just been made available for online consultation at the DeCS/MeSH portal. Its update has been done annually, as for more than 35 years, and reflects the annual update of the Medical Subject Headings (MeSH) of the National Library of Medicine and involves processes of inserting new descriptors and removing or repositioning others.
