From March 19 to 22, 2024, the World Health Organization convened experts and technicians in India to plan the activities of the Global Center for Traditional Medicine. The future Global Library will be developed based on the experience gained with the model of Virtual Health Libraries (VHL), in particular the VHL on Traditional, Complementary and Integrative Medicines developed by BIREME in collaboration with the Regional Network on TCIM for the Americas. The launch of the new library is planned for 2025.

VHL Regional Portal has a new interface and layout
During the month of its 26th anniversary, the VHL Regional Portal launched a new version with an updated interface and layout. Developed by BIREME, the website provides access to a collection of more than 37 million bibliographic records from 60 databases, directories, repositories, and other sources of health information.
Virtual Health Library has a new platform for integrated access to GRADE Guidelines, Recommendations and Maps
New online portal provides and integrates three of the most important clinical and public health decision support services based on WHO and PAHO guidelines and recommendations. Searches on the site retrieve information from a collection of more than 5,000 evidence guides developed by the GRADE system for grading the quality of evidence and strength of recommendations for health decision-making.
BIREME promotes the launch of the 2024 Calendar of VHL Activities with Health Information Networks
For the fifth consecutive year, BIREME promotes an annual calendar of meetings and activities of the Virtual Health Library for the Strengthening of Health Information Networks in LA&C 2024. This year, 19 meetings will address topics related to the VHL Network, the Referees Network, Indexing of documents according to the LILACS Methodology and Good practices in the editorial processes of LILACS scientific journals.
