Many types of cancer, however, could be prevented through awareness campaigns, education and lifestyle changes. This is one of the main objectives of World Cancer Day, celebrated on February 4. For this date in the Americas, PAHO/WHO has chosen to focus on cervical cancer prevention through vaccination, monitoring and early diagnosis and treatment.
